ON The BBC programme ‘Crimes Against Music’, on Friday, 9 June, I heard the following usage:
twocker (pl, twockers)
‘…[THE Y]oung kids hanging about in the street now like to ring up the police on their cell-phones, to make a missing-persons report:
‘”OH Please, Sir, me mate has gone missing [sniffles]….”
‘”‘ALRIGHT, Luv, calm down–what’s yer chappie’s name?”
‘”IT’S Hugh, Sir….”
‘”YEH…Got that–an’ the last name?”
‘”JANUS, Sir!”
‘”YEH, Got that, Hugh–JANUS! Why you little….”
‘AND Then all the ferret-faced little twockers ring off and giggle themselves sick
